この作品は世界どこの国でも祝いの日となるお正月をテーマに制作しました。日本独特の厳かな雰囲気で迎えくる春のおとずれを表現しています。鶴は羽根の部分に日本の伝統工芸の新しい技法新木目金を用いて制作し頭部は漆で仕上げました。鶴に添えた水引は日本人の祝いの気持ちを表しています。
2013年にはフランス、ルーブル美術館 Carrousel Louvre (カルーゼル・ルーブル) のサロンで行われた La Salon de la Sociate Nationale des Beaux-Arts (フランス国民美術協会サロン展) にて展示されSociete Nationale des des Beaux Arts Prix du July (審査員賞) を受賞しました。
New Year is the most celebrated moment in the world. In Japan it combines a traditional dignified atmosphere with a celebration of the arrival of spring. as shown in this piece. The wings of the crane are crafted using a new technique derived from a traditional metal-working process called mokume-gane, while the head has an urushi (lacquer) finish. Mizuhiki, the decorative string expressces our joy in this season.
